First time for Lobster

January 15, 2009

My first experience with Lobster was in the keys with my parents and siblings. We were on a family vacation in Key West. We stayed about a week. My dad wanted us to try Lobster,so he ordered it for us. I liked it. It wasn’t the greatest thing, but it was good. I do not remember my family’s reactions though. Key West was a beautiful drive. it was long, but the water changed different colors the closer you got to the keys, especially Key West, which is the farthest you can go in Florida. They have a nice Seaport also. I went there to see my dad before he left on a cruise. We had lunch in Key West..

New hours

January 5, 2009

My hours are now 3 hours a day. This will be a great schedule. I will have the rest of my day. Some days it goes fast. I like it when it flows along, then I am done before I know it. I like time to go fast during work. It needs to slow down when you are enjoying yourself though. That would be great. TV is on in the background, helping things along. So, my 3 hour work schedule will be super duper.

Christmas day

December 26, 2008

I had a very nice Christmas day. We had lots of good food and fun with the family. There was a lot of great conversations going on. They have a dog now. I’ll talk more about himin another story. It was fun being all together with all of the family. It turned out to be a nice day. We did have some misty and very light rain. The food was excellent as always. People brought side dishes. We had spiral ham, 2 turkeys, and some great side dishes. The usual, Mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce. We had mashed rutabagas. We had a delicious broccoli dish and good rolls. It was delicious. I really had a nice christmas day.

Shriner’s, how they help

December 18, 2008

I was talking to someone about how Shriners help

people. I was bell ringing, and she put some

money in. She was telling me about contributing

and how shriners helped her. They helped with the

daughter for 18 years. She had to have help in

order to have a better life. The Shriners are a

great organization. My husbands Granddad was a

Shriner. They have Shriners Hospitals all over.

There is one in Tampa near University of South

Florida. I even applied for work there. I never

heard back. I know they do a lot of wonderful

things to help children and families. She told

me her daughter was successful and very happy

today.

Delicious Tuna melt

December 11, 2008

There is a tasty sandwich out there called a tuna

melt. It is really a grilled cheese sandwich with

tuna added. You butter the outside of your bread.

Place it on whatever you are cooking it on.

Have the cheese inside. Let it toast on one side.

Add the tuna to the cheese, then brown the

other side. It makes for one tasty sandwich. I

have made them at home as well as had them

out. I like them either way. They are a tasty

alternative to the standard grilled cheese, which

is also very good. I like to add a little mayo and

lemon pepper to the tuna before I place it on the

bread. It is too dry otherwise. So give one of

these a try if you have never had one before.

Easter egg hunts

December 4, 2008

I enjoyed easter egg hunts when i was a young girl. I liked to see how many I could collect. I have also helped at many easter egg hunts. My little brother In Law was still doing egg hunts when I was new in the family. We all went outside and hid eggs. We had to make it a little easy for him, so that he could get all of the eggs. I also helped out with one at our apartment complex. We had one for the younger and the older kids as well. We kind of dumped eggs on the ground and gave the signal for the older kids to go. We had the really little kids in their own section to avoid being trampled by the older kids. It was fun for all. We had one in our neighborhood. We kept rehiding them and going after them. We were taking turns hiding the eggs. It was fun

Super bowl Sunday

December 1, 2008

On February 1st, 2009, Tampa will be hosting the next Super bowl. We have had it here before. It should make for a busy time for our Tampa city. They are winding up the season at the end of December. We will have the play offs. Then it will be down to our Super bowl teams. I know people have their favorite hopefuls already. They take one week off before the game. They usually have a great halftime show. This is the part I like best. I like seeing what has probably been worked on for a while finally performed. I have not always liked the shows, but usually trhey are pretty good. It should be busy with visitors at the hotels around the big Raymond James stadium. This is the Tampa Bay Bucs home. It should be an exciting day for all.
